About My Approach
I am a therapeutic counsellor, living and practising in Basel, Switzerland. I hold a diploma from the Eichgrund Institute for Integrative Gestalt Therapy, Germany.
I see therapy as a process of growth. Through my training in Gestalt, I have a relational approach to therapy that is rooted in dialogue. In this sense, we can create a space where you can feel safe to explore what causes you pain, what blocks you, and regain your ability to feel your own boundaries, your wants and needs, and to live more fully.
I believe that people are born with the resources and ability to be in rewarding contact with other human beings and lead a satisfying, creative life. However, often during childhood and sometimes later on, something interrupts this process and a person becomes stuck in fixed patterns and beliefs about themselves and the world. Gestalt aims to investigate and uncover how these patterns are still active and affecting a person's present life.
I believe that healing and growth require time, space and an authentic counterpart. I will gladly accompany you on your way.
I work using Gestalt therapy, which is an open and non dogmatic form of psychotherapy, that emphasises personal responsibility, and focuses on the individual's experience in the here and now. Gestalt is influenced by the relational philosophy of Martin Buber, phenomenology, Buddhism and existentialism. Viewing the individual holistically and relationally, meaning that we are conceived and born in relationship and we develop always in relation with and to one another. Gestalt aims to increase awareness, through which growth may be achieved. This is known as the paradoxical theory of change. "what is, may be, and once it may be, it may change."
